OUR VISION OUR WAY
OUR VISION OUR WAY
We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which we work and live across Australia and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded. We pay respect to our elders’ past, present and emerging. We thank our elders for their guidance and commitment to advancing our communities. We stand in solidarity with the stolen generation and their families, calling for healing and justice for the atrocities suffered by individuals, families, and communities. We also acknowledge the many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have or continue to work tirelessly in eye health and vision care, to close the gap in preventable vision loss in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, so they can be well and flourishing.
On 27–29 May 2025, the First Nations Eye Health Alliance convened the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Eye Health Conference: Seeing Our Way on Whadjuk Noongar country in Boorloo (Perth), Western Australia. A National Plan roundtable was convened to discuss the future needs of the First Nations' eye health sector for inclusion in the next National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander eye health plan. NATSIEHC26 is heading to the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Naarm/Melbourne – Wurundjeri Country, from Monday 11 May to Wednesday 13 May 2026. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Join us as we celebrate this landmark event!
This year’s Close The Gap report focuses on “Agency, Leadership, Reform,” and we’re proud to be recognised as part of the movement for change.
